Your files stay on your computer

The tools on this site read your files inside your own browser. The contents of your files, the words you search for, and anything found in your files never leave your computer. There is no upload.

What we receive

Visit statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It does not use cookies, local storage or fingerprinting, and it does not tell us who you are. It gives us numbers such as how many people opened a page, from which country, and with which browser.

Chat messages. If you write to us in the chat box, the text you type is sent to us and stored so that we can reply. Nothing else from your computer is sent with it.

Spam check. The chat box uses Cloudflare Turnstile to keep bots out. It runs a quiet check in your browser; we only learn whether the check passed.

What we do not receive

No file contents, no search text, no names, phone numbers, addresses or email addresses from your files. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share data with anyone.

Where it is kept, and for how long

Visit statistics and chat messages are stored with Cloudflare, the company that hosts this site. Visit statistics are kept as aggregated numbers. A chat conversation is deleted automatically after one year without a new message. You can delete your conversation yourself at any time with the button inside the chat box; that removes it from your browser and from our side.

What stays in your browser

Your browser remembers your language choice, your conversation and, if your browser supports it, the folder you opened last, so you can reopen it quickly. All of this lives only on your device. Clearing your browser data removes it.
